Bourg-en-Bresse is the place to base yourself if you want to visit Brou's church, just a short bus (#1) ride away. The tourist office

www.bourg-en-bresse.org ) is in Centre Albert-Camus, 6 av
Alsace-Lorraine, with an annexe by Brou church in summer. Wednesday is market
day in place Carriat, and on the first and third Wednesdays of each
month there's a livestock market as well. An attractive place to stay
is the Hôtel du Mail near the station at 46 av du Mail (tel
04.74.21.00.26, fax 04.74.21.29.55; €24-34; closed Dec 5-Jan 12 &
July 12-Aug 7). The municipal campsite (tel 04.74.45.37.21; April to mid-Oct) is on avenue des Sports, the N83 northeast of town heading for Lons-le-Saunier.
